The ingredient that may help gout sufferers is the cucumber, but for them to say it will fix your bodies uric acid problems is far fetched. While this is a great general tonic (I juice cucumbers 3 or 4 times a week) it's not going to fix your gout no matter how many days in a row you drink it.

The truth is that cucumbers are made up of mostly water and that they are low in purines. A diet high in purines increases uric acid in your blood stream, and drinking lots of water helps to flush those out. So the original author made the leap that juicing cucumbers will help because they have a very high water content and are low in purines.
